I began working in the funeral industry as a driver at the age of 17 for one of the few remaining, family-owned funeral homes in Sydney. I developed a passion for the industry and later on became a funeral assistant at another major Sydney Funeral Business. Over the years, I developed the experience I needed to become a Funeral Arranger and Conductor.
About 5 years ago I noticed there was a major shift in the funeral industry and it had become very corporatized. There was a shortage of family-run Funeral Homes with that personal touch that people need in the circumstances we are dealing with.
With love and support from my wife Mary, and help and guidance from my father Paul Snr. and mother Anne, I started Paul Lahood Funeral Services. My aim was to provide quality funerals to families in their time of need while being alongside them every step of the way.
I believe that the loss of a loved one is difficult enough without being overwhelmed by not knowing what to do about funeral arrangements. We, at Paul Lahood Funeral Services, always take the time out to explain to those grieving a loss everything that is involved in laying their loved one to rest. We are very mindful of who we have in our care and always behave in a manner that shows them and their family members the dignity and respect that they deserve.
Now with the assistance of my younger brother Jordan and a great team of experienced staff, we cater to the needs of those from all walks of life and all religious and cultural backgrounds. We take pride in meeting the very specific needs of each family and providing a farewell that is unique to the person, and providing those left behind with the closure they need to say good bye.
We are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
